The Bali Pass Trek is a high-altitude, difficult trek in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, India, that connects the Har Ki Dun Valley with the sacred Yamunotri region.

This trekking expedition itinerary covers Dehradun in 8 Days / 7 Nights, designed for 20–30 people groups traveling from Bangalore with a difficult difficulty level.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1- Dehradun to Sankri (1,920m)

  • Drive: 8 hours (approx. 190 km).
  • Route: Dehradun → Mussoorie → Naugaon → Purola → Mori → Sankri.
  • Highlights: Scenic drive through pine forests, rivers, and Himalayan villages.
  • Stay: Guesthouse in Sankri.

Day 2- Sankri to Seema via Taluka (2,560m)

  • Drive: Sankri to Taluka (11 km, 1 hour by jeep).
  • Trek: Taluka to Seema (12 km, 4-5 hours).
  • Trail Details: Gradual ascent along the Supin River, through dense forests and small villages.
  • Stay: Campsite at Seema.

Day 3- Seema to Rainbasera (2,800m)

  • Trek Distance: 10 km, 4-5 hours.
  • Trail Details: Gentle ascent along the Supin River, passing waterfalls and alpine meadows.
  • Stay: Campsite at Rainbasera.

Day 4- Rainbasera to Ruinsara Tal (3,500m)

  • Trek Distance: 8 km, 5-6 hours.
  • Trail Details: Moderate climb through meadows and rocky trails. Ruinsara Tal, a glacial lake, offers breathtaking views of Swargarohini Peak.
  • Stay: Campsite near Ruinsara Tal.

Day 5- Ruinsara Tal to Odari (4,000m)

  • Trek Distance: 6 km, 4-5 hours.
  • Trail Details: Steeper ascent through moraine and boulders. Odari, meaning “cave,” is believed to have sheltered Lord Hanuman.
  • Stay: Campsite at Odari.

Day 6- Odari to Bali Col Camp (4,600m)

  • Trek Distance: 5 km, 4-5 hours.
  • Trail Details: Steep and challenging climb. The trail offers panoramic views of Bandarpoonch, Black Peak, and Swargarohini.
  • Stay: Campsite at Bali Col Camp.

Day 7- Bali Col Camp to Lower Dhamni (4,950m)

  • Trek Distance: 15 km, 7-8 hours.
  • Trail Details: Cross Bali Pass, a steep ascent with snow patches and scree. Descend sharply to Lower Dhamni through alpine meadows and dense forests.
  • Stay: Campsite at Lower Dhamni.

Day 8- Lower Dhamni to Janki Chatti to Dehradun

  • Trek Distance: 8 km, 4-5 hours.
  • Drive: Janki Chatti to Dehradun (7-8 hours).
  • Trail Details: Easy descent through forests. Janki Chatti is a popular base for the Yamunotri trek.

Who Can Participate

• Age Requirement

Minimum 9 years.

• Experience

First-timers are welcome; prior trekking experience is an advantage.

• Fitness Criteria

  • Should be able to jog 5 km in 35 minutes without stress, OR 10 km in 80 minutes without stress.
  • If cycling, should be able to cover 10 km in 30 minutes comfortably.

• Backpack Capacity

  • If carrying own backpack – should manage 10–12 kg load.
  • If opting for off-loading – should be able to carry a 3–5 kg daypack.

• Health & BMI

  • Trekkers should ideally have a BMI between 18–29.
  • If outside this range, please consult our Trek Coordinator before booking.
